Commanders Make Roster Moves and Adjustments Before Facing the Lions

Washington looks to regroup with roster changes, renewed energy, and an emphasis on execution heading into Detroit.

The Washington Commanders continue to make moves as they prepare for their upcoming matchup against the Detroit Lions. This week, the team promoted wide receiver Treylon Burks and defensive tackle Sheldon Day from the practice squad to the active roster. In corresponding moves, cornerback Tre Hawkins and safety Daryl Worley have been added to the practice squad.

Injury updates remain an important storyline heading into the game, with the team working to get healthier while adjusting personnel across both sides of the ball.

Defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr. spoke about returning to the field to call the defense after previously working from the press box. He emphasized communication, energy, and setting the tone for a defense that needs to get back to its standard. On offense, Kliff Kingsbury discussed the importance of finishing drives and maximizing personnel to create more consistent production.

The Commanders are focused on discipline, details, and execution as they look to find momentum and capitalize on every opportunity against a tough Lions team.
